Synopsis of Class
|
There are many different wonderful trout flies being tied
these days with all kinds of new and innovative materials.
One bit of material that has gained in popularity in the
past few years is the C.D.C. feather. C.D.C. stands
for Cul de Canard and has the wonderful property of being
hydrophobic. This makes this a great feather for dry
flies and emergers. The feathers are usually smaller
in size but larger feather can be obtained from larger
waterfowl. This means that most flies tied with C.D.C.
are smaller; which in turn makes it a great material for
trout flies.
The primary purpose of this class is to introduce tiers to
C.D.C. While the patterns in this class are fairly
simple you can easily transfer the use of the C.D.C. feather
to your favorite trout patterns. The following are the
flies you will tie.
