Synopsis of Class
|
There are many patterns that are not only productive to fish
but a lot of fun to tie. Tying flies using closed
celled foam are some of these flies. Foam is very easy
to work with and very versatile. These days you can
get closed cell foam in all kinds of shaped, sizes and
colors. All are very easy to deal with in terms of
tying, floating well and are very durable.
With warmer weather approaching, we will soon be casting
more terrestrials to the local trout. Since
terrestrials tend to be a bit bigger and meatier foam is a
great body material for these types of flies. As well
as you do not have to worry about them getting water logged
or needing to be dressed out often to stay on top of the
water.
Keep in mind that these flies tied in smaller sizes are
great for panfish and bigger sizes are great for smallmouth.
This class is mostly designed to expose tiers to using foam
in their flies as well as tying up some very productive
trout patterns. The flies you will tie up are,
