Synopsis of Class
|
During the warm summer days there are many insects out and
about that fish just love to eat. As most fly
fisherman are well aware many insects that fish eat are
aquatic insects. Aquatic in the sense that most of
their life is spent in the water and around the water.
However, there are many non-aquatic insect, called
terrestrials, that fish also love. Many such as
beetles, crickets, grasshoppers, flies and bees live around
the edge of the water and end up getting blown into the
water. While the warmer weather prevails fishing
terrestrials along the banks and edges of grass bed can be
very productive fishing.
In this class you will tie up three different Grasshopper
patterns that are very productive for warmwater spieces as
well as trout. Two of the flies are listed
below. A third fly, the Windriver Hopper, we do not
have a picture of yet. All are fairly easy to tie and
in no time at all you can tie up a number of these patterns
to last you all summer long.
The flies you will tie in this class are,
