FlyMasters of Indianapolis
Advanced Fly Tying Class
Class: Pike Muskie Streamers
Date/Time: May 20th, 2006, 10:00 am – 12:00 am
Maximum Size: 6
Instructor: Ian Anderson
Cost: $10.00
Synopsis of Class
Now that the spring spawn is over the pike and muskie are going deeper. They still lurk around bank cover and along the edges of weed bed but are usually found foraging below the surface. With this in mind, this class will focus on tying streamer patterns that are productive for both pike and muskie that are below the surface. We will tie up a Clouser Half and Half, Bunny Strip, and a Cove Runner. If we have time we will tie up a variation of the Bunny Strip called the Bunny Split.

All tying material will be provided. You will need to bring the following tying equipment.
  • A vise
  • A Bobbin
  • Tying Thread (for this class, black, white and chartreuse FlyMasters +, or Flat Waxed Nylon).
  • Head Cement
  • Scissors
  • Half hitch tools and/or Whip Finish Tool
