Date/Time: June 24th, 2006, 10:00 am – 12:00 am
Maximum Size: 6
Instructor: Ian Anderson
Cost: $10.00
Synopsis of Class
Of all the flies I get asked about throughout the summer that are good for smallmouth bass, the crayfish is the most popular. Crayfish start to get active in the waters around the middle to end of May. They are most effective throughout the summer months. In this class we will tie up three popular crayfish patters. The Near Nuff Crayfish, the Clouser Crayfish and Fox's Mudbug. All of these patterns are productive in any smallmouth (and largemouth) water.

All tying material will be provided. You will need to bring the following tying equipment.
  • A vise
  • A Bobbin
  • Tying Thread (for this class, black, brown and olive 3/0 or FlyMasters + [also a Flat Waxed Nylon will work])
  • Head Cement
  • Scissors
  • Half hitch tools and/or Whip Finish Tool
