Synopsis of Class
|
Sometimes, during the hot days of summer, the weather is not to conducive to fishing. Heat,
blinding sun and bugs can sometimes make a nice tall ice tea and comfortable couch a better
alternative to being outside. However, as the sun sinks low and the temperature starts to go
down the fish of summer start to get active. None more than the everyday panfish. Bluegill,
Redear, Pumkinseed, and Redbreast are very active as the sun goes down. Who doesn't have fond
memories of catching panfish in the summer evening with the family around. In this class we
will focus on four very effective patterns for summer panfish. These are the McGinty, Brim Bugeye,
Brass Wonder and the Orange Fish Hawk. Tied in sizes 10 through 14 these flies can catch panfish
all evening long.
