Maximum Size: 6
Instructor: Ian Anderson
Cost: $10.00
Synopsis of Class
In our advanced tying classes we often try to focus on specific fly patterns for specific fish or conditions.  However, many people are interested in learning how to tie with certain materials or tie using certain techniques.  To that end we are having a class on tying tube flies.  Tube flies are very versatile and easy to make.  Any fly you can tie on a conventional hook you can make into a tube fly.  In this class you will be tying three different tube fly patterns.  You will tie a Wooly Bugger tube fly, a Popper/Slider tube Fly and a Stonefly tube fly.  In addition, we will discuss the many uses and advantages to using tube flies and tie up some extra pieces and part of each tube fly so you can see how versatile they are.

I apologize for not having any photos of the flies we will tie.  I could not find any descent photos to use that would adequately represent the flies you will be tying.  So, rather than confuse anyone I decided on no photos for now.

Please note, you must have a tube fly tying tool to attend this class.
All tying material will be provided. You will need to bring the following tying equipment.
  • A vise
  • tube Fly Tying Tool
  • A Bobbin
  • Tying Thread (for this class black, grey or white  3/0 or FlyMasters Plus)
  • Head Cement
  • Scissors
  • Half hitch tools and/or Whip Finish Tool
