Synopsis of Class
|
Many people think that once the cold weather arrives the
fishing is over. They resign themselves to sitting
down at the bench and tying flies for warmer days.
However, fishing can still be very productive in the cold
months. You simply need to go very small and very
slow.
Tying winter trout nymphs and midges is not that difficult
with the exception you are tying on smaller hooks and
working with smaller material. Most small nymph and
midge hooks don't have much room for material so the actual
patterns are not that complicated to tie.
In this class we will be tying six different patterns. The following are the
flies you will tie. Please note, you will need to
make certain to bring your 8/0 or smaller thread because a
few thread wraps can fill up these hooks fast.
