Dark Cahill
Hook: Mustad #3906, Size 10 – 14
Thread: Black 6/0
Tail: Brown Hackle Fibers
Body: Muskrat Fur Dubbing
Hackle: Brown Hen (tied color style)
Wing: Wood Duck Flank

Tying Instructions
Step 1: Mount the hook in the vise and attach the thread to hook using a jam knot about 1/8th inch from eye. Continue wrapping thread to the bend stopping above the barb.
Step 2: Remove approximately ten fibers from the brown hackle. Even the tips and tie in at the bend.
Step 3: Wax about one inch of thread. Dub a small amount of muskrat dubbing on the thread. Wrap back to the bend, then forward to 1/8th inch from the eye. Wax thread and add dubbing as necessary. Tie off.
Step 4: Select a hen hackle and tie in where the thread was stopped in step 3. Trim butts. Attach hackle pliers and take two turns around the shank. Tie off. Trim excess.
Step 5: Remove about fifteen fibers from a lemon wood duck flank feather. Measure so the fibers extend just past the hook bend. Tie off and trim excess.
Step 6: Whip finish and cement head.
