Hardback Nymph
Hook: Mustad 3906 or 3906B, Size 10 –14
Thread: Match color to body color
Tail: Brown or Grizzly Hackle tip
Body: Fine Chenille, either gray or Olive
Wingcase: Pheasant tail fibers
Hackle: Brown or Grizzly Saddle

Tying Instructions
Step 1: Mount the hook in the vise and attach the thread to hook using a jam knot.
Step 2: Tie in the hackle tip for the tail at the hook bend.
Step 3: Tie in the wingcase, then the hackle by the tip. Finally, tie in the chenille.
Step 4: Wrap the Chenille to just behind the hook eye.  Trim the excess.   Palmer the hackle up the body and trim the excess.   Bring the wingcase fibers forward over the body and hackle.
Step 5: Whip finish and cement head.
