Tying Instructions

| Step 1: |
Mount the hook in the vise and attach the thread to hook
using a jam knot about 1/8th inch from the eye. |
| Step 2: |
Select several lemon Wood duck fibers.
Even the tips. Tie on top of the shank at the jam knot with the tips
pointing toward the eye. Trim the excess butts. Raise
the wings upright and wrap thread in front to stand them upright.
Divide the fibers equally and figure eight the thread around each bunch.

| Step 3: |
Select two dark dun hackles whose fibers are 1 ˝ times
the hook gap. Tie in between the wings with the tips facing toward the eye.
Trim excess butts. Wrap thread back to bend stopping above the barbs.

| Step 4: |
Select dun hackle fibers and tie them in over the barb.
Trim excess butts.

| Step 5: |
Dub thread with body material and stating at the tail
tie-in point wrap up the shank to just in back of the wing (taper
– thin at the tail, thicker at the wing).

| Step 6: |
Grasp one of the hackles with hackle pliers.
Wrap three times in back of the wing, then in front.
Repeat with the other hackle.
Trim the excess tips.

Whip finish and cement the head.
