Beginning Fly Tying Level II
Instructor - Ian
March Brown WetWondering what to do if you already have some basic tying skills but don't feel comfortable coming to our Intermediate and Skills Development Tying Classes Saturday classes?  Wanting to learn more patterns and techniques but you like a more structured environment?  Needing to continue your tying skills but Saturdays do not work for you?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions then you need to come join us for our Beginning Fly Tying Level II class.  We have setup this new class because we have had many requests from students of our Beginning Fly Tying Level I class for something more structured that would continue to develop their skills.  Some feel comfortable attending our Intermediate and Skills Development Tying Classes on Saturdays but many do not.  Even though once you complete the Level I class you have all of the skills needed to tie anything we ever tie in our Saturday afternoon class some people do not feel comfortable or can not make this class.

Fly Tying NymphsThis class will meet for two hours on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00pm.  Like the Level I class, this class meets for five sessions.  The cost of the class is $50.00 and covers all instruction for all five sessions and materials for the FIRST class.  All materials after the first class are the responsibility of the students.

The class will have a loose structure in terms of what flies will be tied.  In the first class students will tie the Professor, an elk Hair Caddis and a Brassie.  All materials for these three flies will be provided.  After the the first class the students will actually determine the flies they tie for the next/remaining class.  A list of approximately 80 flies will be provided in the first class that the students can choose the remaining  flies they tie. This allows us to provide a  tying class tailored to the needs of our customers.

Students need to provide tools and a vise as well as materials.  As with our other classes, students are free to demo any vises we have in the shop during classes.

We will be holding this class throughout the year.  If you can not make a certain Level II series there will be another one coming up.

The instructor is Ian Anderson, who is a member of the Federation of Fly Fishermen and Trout Unlimited.  He has been tying flies for many years and has taught many people this fine art in the Beginning Fly Tying Level I class.  He also teaches our Intermediate and Skills Development Tying Classes.

To register for the class, leave your name and phone number with the store personnel (317-570-9811) or send Ian and e-mail at .
