Beginning Fly Tying Level II Flies
The most difficult thing students of the Beginning Fly Tying Level II
class have to do is pick the flies they want to
tie. For the first class the flies are already picked and
all materials are provided. However, the first thing
students do at the beginning of each class is pick the flies
they want to tie for the next class. Below is a list
of all of the flies students can choose from. There is
a wide selection ranging from dry flies, nymphs, streamers,
saltwater, smallmouth, bluegill and more. As always,
students can request a fly that is not on this list but is
a pattern they would like to learn*. For the first class
students will tie a Elk Hair Caddis, A Brassie and The
Professor. All materials will be provided for this
first class. After the first class student will be
responsible for providing their own materials.
*Note: some fly patterns are very advanced and can take
more then 20 steps to complete. Although we welcome
students request and prefer to teach flies people are
interested in tying there are some patterns that are beyond
the scope of the Level II class.
