Synopsis of Class
One of the most relaxing ways to enjoy fly fishing is by swinging streamers.  You usually do not have to worry about drag (or even micro-drag) in the fly.  Pin point casting is not as essential either.  You can lazily swing streamers down and across as you make your way down stream and simply enjoy your time outside.  However, you can also add little action to the flies with a few twitches here and there or even some fast draws to entice a strike.

Because streamers can be so simple to fish there are all kinds of patterns available that add flash, noise, and action to the fly so the fisherman does not have too.  One common technique is to add in a large head of material on the front of the fly.  This can not only help in the overall shape of the fly, to present the right profile, but it also can help add a great deal of noise to the fly.  A large head on the fly can also help create currents around the fly that help move other materials in the fly.  Further fooling the fish that the fly is swimming and edible.

In this class in our Intermediate and Skills development Tying series we will be introducing tiers to Spun Head flies.  These are flies (usually streamers) that have large heads on them that are usually spun deer hair, elk hair, or wool.  The class is designed to not only teach some new patterns but by adding your own heads to some of your own flies you can greatly enhance their fish ability.  Come join us for some fun this weekend.  These are great patterns to have in your repository.

The following are the flies you will tie in this class.
