Intermediate Fly Tying Class
Class: All About Dubbing
Date/Time: October 31st, 2009, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Maximum Size: 8
Instructor: Ian Anderson
Cost: $10.00
Synopsis of Class
Many people who have been tying for a while are aware of what "dubbing" is.  However, many do do not know the various methods of dubbing.  As well they are not aware that you can use all kinds of materials when dubbing; natural and synthetic.  I am often asked by tyers about the different methods of dubbing and when to use each method.

This class is designed to educate tyers and help them improve their dubbing techniques.  We will start off by actually making our own dubbing.  It is not a difficult process and can be done with many common materials.  We will then cover the direct dubbing method (which people are most familiar with).  There are actually two different direct dubbing methods we will cover.  We will then cover dubbing loops and why you would use them over the direct dubbing method.  Lastly, we will learn what dubbing brushes are and actually make one.  Somewhere in the process of all of this learning we will actually make a fly using the various techniques we have learned.
