Synopsis of Class
|
One of the best times of the year for catching big
smallmouth is in the fall. As the water temperatures drop
and the waters clear, smallmouth bass are on the prowl for
baitfish. The crawdads are busy finding their winter homes
and the smallies have to fatten up for winter. This means
that minnow type streamer patterns can be very effective.
The important thing to remember is to make your patterns in
colors that reflect the types of bait fish and minnows in
your waters.
In this class we will be tying up four
proven patterns for smallmouth streamer fishing. By varying
the amount of weight on these flies you can fish them right
on the bottom or anywhere in between. They have wonderful
action and are fun to tie. The colors in these patterns can
easily be varied to reflect any type of bait fish.
