Synopsis of Class
|
Spring is here and so are (or soon will be) the
mayflies. If you are heading out to any trout streams
in the next few weeks it is quit likely that you will run
into some Blue Wing Olive mayflies. The Blue Wing
Olive (BWO) mayflies are one of the first to come off the
water in the spring and one of the first you should be
fishing.
In this class we will be tying flies
that will represent the Blue Wing Olive at all stages of
its' life that are important to fly fishing. Once you
have determined what the fish are targeting you will then
have a fly to present to them.
The flies we will tie are,

All tying material will be provided. You will need to bring the
following tying equipment.
- A vise
- A Bobbin
- Tying Thread (for this class pale yellow, olive
and brown 6/0 or smaller)
- Head Cement
- Dubbing Wax
- Scissors
- Half hitch tools and/or Whip Finish Tool
