Synopsis of Class
Sure we all like to tie flies that we will throw to fish to bring then into the net.  Sometimes that is the most satisfying part of fly tying.  But there is another side to fly tying.  A more artistic and refined side.  Especially when it comes to tying realistic flies.  In recent years more and more tiers are enjoying spending hours at the vise and using materials in all sorts of new ways to make flies that look just like real insects.  One tier, Graham Owen, has been taking this sort of tying to all kinds of new levels in recent years.  Another well know tier of realistic patterns, that he actually fishes, is Oliver Edwards.  His FlyTyers Masterclass is a must for any tier wanting to refine their tying skills.  His Essential Skills and Essential Patterns DVDs are packed with fantastic information to keep you tying al kinds of patterns for years to come.

Cecil Guidry had a chance to tie some flies with Oliver Edwards here at FlyMasters a number of years ago and has since developed his own Hellgrammite and stonefly patterns that are amazing.  These are not quick ties.  in all likelihood you will probably never put them on the end of a leader.  These flies are made to slowdown and enjoy your time at the vise.  This is a special four hour class.  There are two flies you will learn to tie but you will also be learning a number of skills that you can apply to other flies to improve all of your fly tying.

Bring your tools, your patience and your enthusiasm.  We will have a lot of fun.
