Synopsis of Class
|
Ever wonder what flies you can tie with the bright feathers
on a Pheasant? How about the distinct banded feathers
of a Sharptail Grouse? Or the speckled feathers of a
partridge? This Wild Game Bird fly tying class will
show you just what kinds of flies you can tie with these
birds.

We will be tying up at least eight different patterns using
Ring Necked Pheasant, Lady Amherst Pheasant, Sharptail
Grouse, Prairie Chicken and Hungarian Partridge. The
patterns will range from simple soft hackle flies to nymphs
and even dry flies. In addition to receiving recopies
for each of the flies we actually tie we will be providing
seven other recopies for additional flies that can be tied
using these birds. As well we will be discussing, and
tying, these patterns with multiple birds to see how
changing just one feather can dramatically change the look
and action of the fly.

The class will start at it's normal time, 2:00pm, however
the class will run about three hours. The patterns are
not difficult it is just that we will be tying a lot of
flies. The cost is still only $10.00 and all materials
are provided. Bring you vise and tool (and glasses)
and join the fun this Saturday.
