Synopsis of Class
|
Mayflies are a very popular fly patterns for fly fisherman
to fish and tie. Mayflies are a major food source for trout
and there are so many different species that it seems there
is an endless variety of flies you can tie for the various
stages of a mayflies life. even though we are predominantly
a warmwater fishery around central Indiana we have plenty of
trout fisherman and women that love to catch the trout we
have as well as travel to other destinations to get their
trout fix. This particular fly tying class is not designed
to focus on any one particular species of mayfly but rather
imitations for the varies stages of the mayfly. All of these
patterns can be changed, primarily by changing the color of
the materials used, to represent the specific species on you
favorite trout water.
The four different stages of
the mayflies life (as it related to fishing, not entomology)
are the nymph, emerger, Dun (dry), and spinner. Make certain
to note the tools needed for this class. Specifically, a
dubbing loop tool is needed.
