Let's Go Fishing

We are proud to announce the start of a new program at FlyMasters.  The "Let's Go Fishing" program will start up in June of 2008 and run through the Summer and into the fall.  The program is basically just what it sounds like; let's go fishing!

We have customers from all walks of life and all skill levels.  Some are getting back into fly fishing, some are taking our school or have recently graduated (and some are taking lessons elsewhere) and some have been fly fishing for many years.

All of these people have one thing in common, they love to learn about fly fishing.  Because the well of fly fishing knowledge is never full they often have questions concerning the type of fishing they want to do, flies they are tying, how tippets work, wading streams, etc...

Many of these questions can be answered in the shop or even over the phone (and don't forget e-mail).  However, a great deal of questions real need some sort of hands on demonstration for people to really learn.  That is where "Let's Go Fishing" comes in.

Most Wednesday evenings through out the summer and fall someone from FlyMasters will be at Hazel Dell Landing on the West Fork of the White River from 6:30pm until whatever O'clock.  The objective is to help anyone who has a question or needs some advice concerning their fly fishing.

Stop on by if you,
  • do not understand leaders and tippets.
  • want to get a handle on mending your line and when to mend.
  • are uncertain as to how to swing a streamer or where to swing it.
  • have a question about outdoor gear (rain gear, waders, boots, belts, etc...).
  • get wind knots.
  • break off flies.
  • hit yourself in the head with the flies (often).
  • keep loosing fish.
  • don't understand your reel.
  • want to learn places to fish.

The list goes on and on.  Basically, if you want to learn more about fly fishing, stop on by!

However, this is not a beginner course.  The reason for this is that we may have a number of people with various questions and if our time is consumed with teaching one person the basics then others are not being served.  If you have never fly fishing and would like formal instruction (which is the best way to start) we have a Fly Fishing School through out the summer.  If you think you would like to fly fish and have some questions about it, to see how it works, feel free to stop by.  Please keep in mind that the "Let's Go Fishing" program is not a beginners course or forum.

Also keep in mind that your learning does not have to be limited to warmwater arenas just because we meet at a warmwater location.
