Salmon at Barothy Lodge This Fall

Salmon on The Pere Marquette

Chinook Lodge
Chinook Cabin
Barothy Lodge is situated in 320 acres of Michigan's Manistee National Forest.  Located right on the banks of the Pere Marquette River approximately 25 miles East of Lake Michigan. The lodge was originally a hunting, fishing and mineral spa resort that has grow over the years to encompass 5 miles of the Pere Marquette River.

FlyMasters has reserved the Chinook Cabin for four night and three days of Salmon and trout fishing this fall.

The Pere Marquette River has great runs of fall salmon, steelhead and lake run trout.  Each year in August or September the salmon begin to run up the Pere Marquette (sometimes referred to as the 'PM') and continue into late September and October.  The best time to fish for salmon on the PM is the first and second week of October.

We will mostly be targeting King Salmon but trout are often caught as well as early run steelhead!  Generally eight weight rods swinging streamers, nymphs and eggs are what do the trick.

The Chinook cabin can accommodate up to eight people.  There are two queen size beds and 4 twin beds in six rooms.  The cabin has a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 3 bathrooms, pool table and hot tub (a major asset after a long day of fishing)!  There is plenty of room to stretch out and relax inside and out of the cabin.

The trip dates are September 26th - September 30th, 2011.  The cost of the trip is $900.00.  This included lodging for the four night, lunch/dinner and three days guide service.  The cabin has a fully stocked kitchen so you can make your own breakfast if you like.

Guide services are provided through Indigo Guide service.

Travel is not included in the price as well as fishing licenses and guide and housekeeping gratuities. As we get closer to the time for the trip we will work out travel arrangements.  Some people can car pool or travel solo if they choose.
